Around the world throughout human history, people have decorated with clothing, furniture, pottery, living spaces and bodies with distinctive designs. Ornamental Art has been made in many media carved into stone; clay & wood, woven into clotyh and baskets; painted on tiles and pottery; formed out of precious metals; and tattooed on skin.  Because each culture has developed a unique decorative style, we usually can identify who made which art.

The 22 design motifs in this colouring book are from cultures from around the world.  When you colour them in, you might use the origial colours shown in the smaller images on the inside front and back covers of this book, or you may choose to use a different colour palette.
